For anyone wondering about the dead body in Liyue water supply it isn't a quest but rather a bunch of information you can connect from the notes on bulletin boards, conversation with 3 different sets of npcs and a little bit of filling the blanks. When you ebter Liyue harbor on the northern side if the city there's a guard who complains about unknown reason for water supply being contaminated and how it bothers him. If you walked to Liyue from Mondstadt you'll encounter a tea shop on your way in where a man and a woman are discussing their escape. Then you meet an old man in Liyue harbor by the adventures guild (usually in the evenings)who is grieving his deceased daughter.. His dialogue changes slightly depending on where you encounter him through the day. Finally there's a notice on a bulletin board that tells you about a body discovered in the well belonging to a young woman.
By comparing everything you basically gather the whole story: a young woman and her lover wanted to marry but her father disapproved. They somehow acquired a body of a woman who looked similar to the daughter of the merchant and dressed her up to make the merchant believe his daughter committed suicide. Meanwhile the couple eloped and can be found closer to Srone gate drinking tea and discussing their future plans.
Now that i think about it… WHAT IF… Barbatos's statue was actually built on top of the teleport point to Celestial just to hide it? Like, instead of the statue itself, there is SOMETHING under the statue that needs to be hidden. We all know Mondstadt's history, the tyrant king, etc. So, wouldn't it be more make sense that during the tyranny era, the gate was already there, and Vanessa decided to build the statue on top of it, surrounded it with a pool of water. Or was the statue actually the second statue that Mondstadt built? The upside down statue of the seven might be the first statue that was ever built on top of the gate but considered it has the ability to heal us aka archon's blessing and smaller, they replaced it with a normal statue, a bigger one…to look normal.
So I believe the water incident, which you can hear about from the Millelith complaining about the water quality near Chiyu Rock, is resultant from a man and woman trying to fake her death, and used a cadaver that looked like her to throw into the water. I don't know/remember how they got the cadaver. For Dottore, it's still up to speculation unless we heard it right from him, but the autopsy reports make it sound like the robot, likely a ruin guard they encountered, killed the woman he was out researching with. Because the research of mechanical life forms is prohibited, and he had already gotten caught TWICE for it, he tried to mutilate her body to make it look like a tiger attack, but the strangulation marks were still found and the mutilation noted to imitate, but not quite perfectly match a tiger.
And people still defend arlecchino saying she loves her kids. She can love them all she wants but that doesn't change the fact that she's traumatizing and grooming little kids into soldiers. Freminet even said one of the little kids got sent on a dangerous mission and got poisoned and almost died alone. People like to show her story quest to say "look they like being here"…but many of them left when they had the chance while other kids like lyney and them are too indoctrinated now. In the story quests lyney said he believed she kills anyone who tries to leave and he didn't think that was unthinkable of her. Clearly her love isn't big enough if lyney though leaving would mean death. She purposefully let the children believe that so they wouldn't try to leave. That's psycho. She manipulates them to the point they feel GRATEFUL to her. lyney even hesitated to save his siblings instead of betray her in the fortress :(… if they knew what real parental love is they wouldnt be grateful anymore, but these poor orphaned children are vulnerable and easy to please and manipulate which is why she picks them. Its just as sinister as dottore! Both cause the death of children to meet their ends. Arlecchino is worse tho cuz she grooms them into thinking its theur choice so they dont even try to leave. Dottore at least doesnt hide that hes a scumbag! The abused becomes the abuser and lyney will turn out like her if he takes over her positions.

The Knave can love her children and form a strange familial bond within the house of the hearth,but at the same time, she's also grooming and practically weaponizing them. As "heartwarming" as their bonds are AND as traumatic of a backstory the harbingers might have,the fatui are terrible people. Arlecchino is still a cold-blooded murderer nonetheless,and she's raising her children to be such as well. Lyney have also mentioned that she kills anybody to tries to leave the house of the hearth,yet he does not question her choices,which sounds oddly manipulative. Her motives are just as evil as Dottore's if not worse,yet she still gets defended just because half the fandom simps on her. I'm still questioning to this day on how she even became playable. Freminet doesnt make much sense. He is basically a professional killer, and he doesnt seem to enjoy people sufering so he would kill most of his targets whitout them having the oportunity to scream most likely. Unless they somehow are able to put up a fight which shouldnt be common
