My guess is that Nicole will not be his dedicated support, but rather a dedicated support for another character (prime example is Alice) while also being quite a decent addition to Varka, bringing him closer to 110K territory.
Following their recent trend of making characters, Nicole to Bennett will probably be a closer debate to Xilonen to Sucrose.
With all that said…they could just make Varka a small break to the recent trend of characters having 125K DPS minimum. Although i think that's kinda unlikely because, c'mon, who's not gonna milk the cash cow that is making Varka the next dehya, Release his "dedicated support" Nicole, and then release Alice which reaches 140K DPS WITH Nicole?
Varka is SO damn lucky that Durin and Nicole were already characters I was planning on pulling 😤 What they’ve done to him is SO bad. I wish Lohen had been the sacrificial lamb for next patch instead of Varka
This reminds me of how Cyno was highly anticipated but ended up not being the best on release, so some people opted to wait until he got is BiS teammates. However, once those BiS teammates came out, no one wanted to play Cyno anymore.
If this is the case then him being standard banner character is making more sense maybe HoYo is just saying in a weird way he don’t worry if you don’t pull for him you’ll be able to still get him I hope not but if he is I hope he is really good if so
I think they genuinely switched up the versions somehow. Why give us varka now instead of the version with the mondstadt expansion, new worldboss materials that would fit him, and a whole story around that new region together with his quest. You don't give a character a better model, new face model and pretty cool animations, and apparantly alot of content to just make him mediocre. Massive cope i know
People were complaining about DPS and best supports being released back to back, now Hoyoverse is teaching us how it feels when they are released a few patches apart.
Can we also talk about how varka actually did no fighting in nod krai on screen. He supposedly fought rerir off screen but he doesnt fight dotorre with us and he only ever throws his claymore at the wild hunt to save us. What the hell happened?
This actually really works well for players who are new and f2p. I started at the end of Sept. and I got Durin on his release. I have been able to leisurely play at my own pace and will still be able to get Varka and Nichole. I've deliberately skipped everything having to do with lunar reactions because it's impossible to keep up.
It's also worked really well because even as a brand new player I have Mona at C2, Fischl, and Succrose. Which means I can put together teams even while I'm waiting for Varka and Nichole.
And as a newer player these are all characters I'm mostly familiar with because I've just been through Monstadt recently.
If you've been playing Genshin for years all of this is bewildering. But as a new player this has actually made the game very approachable.

I was waiting for him since 3.5 or something there. But now I don't care. I got Kolombina & Ineffa just because this duo is fun and great.
I actually like it cause I’ve wanted all three, even before I saw their kits, so to have them spread out gives me more time to save.
They'd rather make a random adeptus one of the most powerful characters over him🙄
