    1. I honestly wish that the Vacher story had been extended into acts 3 and 4 of Fontaine. Make it a big, grand conspiracy that feeds even deeper into the overall story. And on top of that, the resolution needed more room to breathe. โ€œThe prophecy is fulfilled! Weโ€™re all going to die! Run for yourโ€ฆ Oh. Itโ€™s over. Thatโ€™s a relief. Anyway, what was I doingโ€ฆโ€ It all just ended too suddenly. We didnโ€™t even get a single moment with Furina to see how she reacted to her long nightmare finally ending, just her story quests that took place weeks or maybe even months later.

If those 2 changes had been made, I think I would definitely put Fontaine on top. As it is, I think the title belongs to Nod Krai for how itโ€™s been firing on all cylinders almost nonstop all year. Fontaine and Sumeru tie for second. Sumeru was technically better executed, but I personally connected with Fontaine more. Or maybe Iโ€™m just biased toward the color blue. Who can say. Nahida is best archon though, hands down.

    2. YES BROOO, FONTAINE WAS PEAKKK, NOBODY WILL EVER BE ABLE TO CHANGE MY OPINION!!! The story was amazing, characters are so lovable and have high aura, the scenery is GORGEOUS, loved the exploration, and I didnโ€™t even mind the fortress of meropide that much! I kinda loved it! It was a change of pace! So in conclusion, that post was RIGHT!!!

    3. I donโ€™t know if I am just heartless but Fontaine story was good but furinas story was just alright to me I mean I liked it but I genuinely enjoyed the Lyney court case more than furinas story meanwhile I LOVED Sumeru still my fav region in genshin with my fav story

    4. Fontaine had two big things many Genshin stories lack. High stakes and complex, fleshed-out characters. I was genuinely immersed in the world and the lore surrounding the prophecy and I actually felt upset when some of the characters didnโ€™t make it. Truly something else entirely.

    5. Fontaine was peak Genshin. It literally made me and most of my friends return for it. Then come Natlan and everyone just dipped. I was the only one to even try Nod Krai. Gave it about 10 hours worth of exploring and questing before I quit.

    6. The Fortress of Meropide was a boring experience but the underwater prison itself as an area (not as an experience but the concept itself) is really damn cool.

Sometimes I go at the entrance and look at the ocean through the glass.

    7. Fontaine is a really good storyline, but I do agree with an earlier comment that most of it was carried by Furina and Act 5. Nod Krai wins because it's consistent with its peak

    8. I may like Nod-Krai and Fontaine together. Their both very cool and insane… Absolute Cinema. I may not leak the Act 9 or 10 somehow if you didn't do the quest… (WHY DID YOU DIDN'T DO YOUR QUEST ALREADY!!!!) Anyways, Furina, Columbina, Neuvillette, and I'm not gonna say who is my favorite somehow is in my name. Doro… DO YOUR ACT 9 AND ACT 10 NOD-KRAI QUEST OR ELSE I'LL STRANGLED YOU- Okay nevermind I wouldn't do that from you.

    9. My favorite region is and will always be Sumeru! I love the earthy design and the storyline kept me coming back for more and more! I also have bias because all the characters are so interesting to me

    10. Personally, I'd put Fontaine, Sumeru, & Nod-Krai at about the same level if we're judging on story & characterization for the main archon quests alone. I'm not quite sure which one I would put at the very top if I had to only pick one.

I'd also put Mondstadt & Liyue at similar levels to each other, a little lower than the top 3. Both very very good, but the story was still finding its footing somewhat.

I actually did like Natlan a lot, but I might be a bit biased because I started playing right before it came out. I definitely think it had major issues, though! Overall I think it felt more like a sequel to the main game. And honestly if it had been, people might have liked it a lot better, because then our expectations would have gotten to reset a little more & maybe the differences in plot focus & characterization wouldn't have been quite so jarring. The ending would still have some major flaws, though!

Inazuma was bad enough that I have stricken it from my memory, lol. In seriousness, I think more of my issues in Inazuma came from frustrations with the gameplay. I did definitely have some issues with the story itself, but there were also some very good parts. If I really wanted to give it a ranking I'd genuinely have to go back & look at some of it again, though…

    11. DIDNT EXPECT IT? Even with the fortress of meropide taking 2 quests. The pay of was so massive personal and emotional for the weakest person in the nation. That it elevates the final archon of Fontain to the best story Genshin ever told. Also the beauty of Focalors Justice, to take the responsibility even for sins that were not her own with her own neck. She chould have made Furina the puppet to die, she chould have lied, all she did was beauty as she danced to her death. Also ill say that Nod krai has the generaly best balanced story of all regions, as meropide really lowers Fontain for alot of people.

    12. natlan only got sdo little because people overhyped it for themesleves and ended up very dissapointed. natlan's whole archon quest was awesome and i love it.

    13. In terms of the main story:
      1) Fontaine
      2) Natlan
      3) Sumeru

As for Nod-Krai, honestly… meh. I quit after Luna II, just couldn't get that invested into it. There were some aspects I liked which I'll get into latter, but I just didn't vibe with a lot of it. It feels like the story is supposed to be more "character driven"; however, while I LOVE Aino and I LOVE Ineffa (Jahoda's pretty cool too), I didn't really care about the other characters as much, except for Nefer, who I really disliked.
The story honestly felt like a bit of a slog, especially the memories part I tuned out a lot there. First time in my years of playing where I actually wished I had a skip button.
While I did love Aino and Ineffe, with the way the story was going it felt like they were being phased out; so, I thought "well if the only parts of Nod-Krai that I like are being pushed to the side, why keep playing? I'd much rather spend my time on a game I actually enjoy, like ZZZ or BA". I've thought about coming back a few times, but it just feels like so much content I get tired just thinking about it, and that's not the right mind-set to have for a game.
I know I'm in the microscopic of minorities here, but it's my honest opinion. I swear I'm not trolling or rage-baiting. I don't expect anyone to actually read all this, but I guess I just felt like saying it anyways.

    14. I don't really care about who wins "the best story", I just love that we as a community silently agreed that Natlan story was trash

    15. At first, people were saying that Fontaine storyline was great. So I had huge expectations because I havenโ€™t started the whole 4.3 Archon Quest yet at that time. But when I did finally started it, I was like โ€œIs this it?โ€ People said itโ€™s best but for me personally it wasnโ€™t. Then I realized that most of the people that say Fontaine had the best storyline was because of Focalorโ€™s sacrifice that it caught them off guard and had great emotional impact on them including Furinaโ€™s journey too and then I also realized that what defined the entirety of Fontaineโ€™s AQ was Furina. A lot of people impression of Fontaine was all about โ€œFurina! Furina! Furina!โ€ And I realized that most of them are kids, teenagers and perhaps young adults too. Fontaineโ€™s AQ was simple for me and I then realized thatโ€™s why a lot of your young audience love Fontaine storyline because it was simple, relatable and not so complicated to understand. I was like, I am already used to those kind of story narratives (Focalor and Furina) that it did not quite left me a deep impression of the story. Meanwhile Sumeru AQ and Nod Krai AQ had complex elements like sci-fi and other complicated stuffs and lot of people could not get wrap their thinking around it. But Sumeru AQ was better.

But then Nod Krai came. Oh man, that was really the best storyline for me so far in Genshin. The pacing and writing was really really good, not to mention the environment and music. It was really awesome overall. So yeah, Doro. Weโ€™re in the same boat, for us Nod Krai was peak. Just donโ€™t let the majority of the votes hit you or influenced you because majority of your audience are young and a lot of them wonโ€™t still yet appreciate the complex ones because their minds and hearts are still young.

    16. Natlan was my favorite getting more into the lore of the dragons, the abyss playing a bigger role in the story, the freaking fight between Mavuika and Capitano. The war itself was sad and made you feel the weight of your choices on who to help and the ending with the Traveler being celebrated as a hero. Something the other nations prior never did was chief's kiss to me in my opinion.

    17. I liked Sumeru but I really liked Inazuma other than a couple goofy parts.

Like walking up on the two factions right before they fight, but theyโ€™re both just standing in the middle staring at each other until traveler shows up.
