She did this for Columbina as well, maybe more than for Traveler. Can’t really explain in detail but the plan to save Columbina was dependant of the traveler being alive because the world formula didn’t take them for account, as they are a descender.
I have a opinion about her sacrifice and it’s all my opinion, I think hoyo rushed her backstory and a lot of it didn’t make sense, like why on earth she randomly started yapping about her backstory to the traveller who just met her and didn’t do anything for her to trust them. Compared to other characters sacrificing themselves in the game like Xiao, Hu tao, and Furina had way more stakes and personal stakes, which made their sacrifice have more weight and impact. This is all just my opinion, so it’s fine to disagree, but i would love to have a discussion about it.
Literally Sandrone and nefer both of them had crossed their lines for columbina.This shows how sincere and affectionate they were for traveler and their allies
